The app is available for free on Apple and Android market places. To get started, download and install the app on your smartphone. Then, create an account by filling in basic information like your name, age, weight, location, and phone number. Next, select a charity of your choice. For instance, if you know someone suffering from cancer, select a charity that aids cancer patients. This way you can contribute to others suffering from cancer.
Once you are done with registration, use this app next time you head out for a run, walk or bike. The app calculates the miles covered and converts them into money. To check how much you can contribute, use the dynamic slider provided by Charity Miles. Based on your goal i.e. the distance you are planning to cover, the simulator will calculate the amount you can generate on completion. You can use this app just like a regular fitness tracker app.
Now, the question of how Charity Miles generates income. Charity Miles has world-class sponsors who pay them to advertise on the app. Charity Miles themselves do not pay to the charities, their sponsor takes care of that part.
What I like about Charity Miles App
I don’t see anything special in the fitness tracker this app has to offer. It is good enough for an amateur athlete. But I am glad that this app lets me donate a few bucks every day– to the ones who need it the most.
What I don’t like about Charity Miles App
I can’t think of a downside of this app but I do get annoyed every time it gets updated. After every update, the app asks me to login again by entering the username and password.
This app is for anyone who wants to donate money to charities and also get physically fit in the process. You don’t have to be wealthy to be able to impact the lives of the needy and unfortunate. Just turn on the app next time you go out to run and you will generate enough income to feed someone that day.
The app is free to download for both Android and iOS devices. There are no in-app purchases or premium versions of it.
