YouTube has been the primary launchpad for the next generation internet celebrities. Very often we hear of videos that have gone viral, some good some ehh not great? Take for example Pen pineapple apple pen or closer to home Dhinchak Pooja’s Selfie song, hate them love them but you just can’t ignore them!  Not just videos but the channels which keep people hooked to the site. These stars entertain you in every possible way. Many of these channels have proper episodes much like Netflix. Channels in India such as AIB, Popxo and Girliyapa keep us entertained with their podcasts and hilariously relatable scenarios. Which makes one wonder do they earn any money out of this? They, I mean she has memoir Self Helf, a Netflix show and a stand-up comedy tour. With her first video back in 2012 she has been a constant with her channel.

German Garmendia hails from Chile and is considered Latin America’s biggest YouTube star. This handsome Chilean star is not just a comedian but a musician as well, he has two channels in the top 20. They’re called HolaSoyGerman and JuegaGerman. So, he earns in two- fold. If only we were as smart and talented as him!

Income: $ 5.5 Million

Markiplier or Mark Fischbach is a YouTuber focused mainly on gaming. He has an energetic style which involves a bit of swearing and tons of emotion as he gets carried away in the game. He is also extremely ambitious and wants to push himself beyond YouTube and wants to be prepared with the skill set in case he’s offered a film. His videos are totally based on his passion for gaming, and what better than to make loads of money for doing something that you love! Lucky guy.

This YouTube personality is also an LGBTQ activist and his videos along with comedy and pop contain a dash of politics as well. He’s signed to Ellen DeGeneres’s production company. With millions of followers this guy with his funky hairstyles is one entertaining fellow. He’s also an author and speaks about a variety of social issues as well. And earning 6 million for that is not too bad either, now is it?

Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla are a comedy duo commonly known as Smosh. They were one of the first YouTube sensations. They are best known for their slapstick comedy videos that parody several popular videos (you can never look at these videos the same way again!). They have been in the business for a long time and do not intend to slow down. They are currently running seven channels and are doing pretty well with an annual income of around 7 million

Popularly known as Superwoman (which she really is!) this Punjabi kudi has been making waves on YouTube since her first video. She does everything on her channel from enacting relatable scenarios to music videos. Residing in Canada this woman has one of the most followed channels and a wild fan base. She has also collaborated with several other YouTubers including Zaid Ali and AIB in the past. Superwoman also earns a super sum of money for her videos! She also went on a worldwide tour & released a feature film on YouTube Red.

Income: $ 15 Million

This foul mouthed Swedish YouTuber has dominated YouTube over the past few years. Felix Arvid Ulf Kjelberg better known as PewDiePie is primarily a video game commentator. Most of his videos consist of him playing different video games with his reactions to the events in a box on the top corner of the post. His success is mainly attributed to the fact that he pays a lot of attention to his fans and replies to their questions in comments.
