Congratulations to you as well, weakonomist; you'll have to let me know how your wedding goes, so I can steal any good money-saving tips you might have for a wedding ceremony. I do consider her a very sensible (well, frugal, if somewhat goofy and ditzy at times) person, and the ring is well in line with personality. As to her grandmother, I can certainly understand where she's coming from, and since I want my Sondra to succeed just as much as her family wants her to succeed, I am willing to wait to marry my wonderful girl. Though a great deal of my non-scholarship money came from my grandfather's will and he didn't put in any marriage clauses I know of. We were together 5 years before we got married and it was well worth the wait.
