It does seem that we want to assume that everything good is our own doing, while 'someone else' is to blame for the bad things that befall us. Our egos at work, I suppose. As for a guest post, I'll have to come up with something even better to post on your site; don't worry, it's definitely near the top of my list (although, things like family, my fiancee and my blog will have to take precedence).
