Want an Amateur Financier post on your blog or other website?
I’m always happy to consider writing guest posts for other blogs. If you’re a fan of my writing and would like me to share some wisdom with your readers, or if you want to propose a blog swap (where you write a post on my blog and I write one for yours), drop me a line and I’ll be sure to consider it. You can reach me using my Contact or you can send an email to: theamateurfinancier[at]gmail[dot]com. In either event, I look forward to working with you!
The Official Guest Posting Policy on the Amateur Financier:
If you are a fellow blogger, or otherwise are running a quality source of personal finance information, I’d be more than happy to publish an entry from you on the Amateur Financier. Just be sure it meets the following criteria, and I’ll get it posted as soon as there is an opening:
- It should be personal finance related. I try to give some leeway, as my blog’s focus is fairly broad, but there should be some link to how individuals (not businesses or governments) use, earn, and manage money.
- It should be well written. I understand there are plenty of non-native English speakers and others with difficulties writing, but if I need to spend more time editing your post than I would writing my own, it’s not reasonable for me to do so.
- It should be substantial. This means both that it should be fairly long (at least 700-1000 words) and that it provides useful information to the reader (no puff pieces or highly specialized articles).
- It should be non-offensive. No racial or sexual slurs, excess profane language (a ‘hell’ or ‘damn’ or two might still fly, if not used in excess), or insults directed at specific political, religious, ethnic, or geographical groups. You can still provide provocative articles about political or ethical issues, but you should find a way to do it without denigrating even those who disagree with you.
- NO LINKS TO SALES SITES. If you are trying to get a back link to a site designed to sell a product (or a review site designed to link to numerous sales sites), I am afraid you will not be allowed to publish a guest post here on the Amateur Financier; see below for possible ‘sponsored posts’. (Note: This is a fairly new policy; arguing that I allowed other groups, or even you in prior posts, to link to such sites will not get around this policy.)
Sponsored Posts: If you do want to link to sales sites in a guest post, note that I will consider such a post as a ‘sponsored post’. It will be noted in the post that it was a sponsored post, and you will be charged a fee for the posting. If this is unacceptable to you, you can have the guest post put up without any inappropriate links, as well; the choice is yours.
